Korean bakery chain, Tous Les Jours, offers S$7 all-you-can-eat bread buffet, leads to 4-hour queues & plenty of food waste
A lot of bread.
A Korean bakery chain, Tous Les Jours, recently offered a 9,900 Won (S$7) all-you-can-eat bread buffet.
There is a one-hour time limit where customers can grab as much bread, and one free drink, as they can.
You cannot take leftover bread out. That's basically it.
This has led to long lines at the bakery.
According to Korea Times, a food vlogger repeatedly had to wait four hours to be seated despite arriving one hour before the store opened.
Another unintended consequence has been the amount of food wastage.
Local media, citing YouTube videos, reported one comment decrying the wasteage:
'There is an enormous amount of bread that people take just to take a bite and then throw away.
I felt that at least some regulations are necessary.'
