South Korean actor-singer Yim Si Wan will be making an appearance at Plaza Singapura on May 17.

Yim, 36, will be attending the opening ceremony for Korea Travel Fair 2025, an annual event held by the Korea Tourism Organisation (KTO).

Yim is known for his roles in "Boyhood" (2023), "Run On" (2020), "Hell is Other People" (2019), and "Misaeng: Incomplete Life" (2014).

He also plays Player 333, a former cryptocurrency YouTuber, in "Squid Game", which will premiere in June 2025.

What to expect at opening ceremony

According to a press release issued by KTO, Yim will be sharing personal travel stories and recommendations at the opening ceremony.

Specifically, he will offer insights into his hometown — the southern Korean city of Busan — his favourite filming sites, food picks, and hobbies.

Besides Yim's sharing, attendees to the opening ceremony can also expect a cultural performance by the Korean National Gugak Centre, blending traditional Korean instruments with Singapore National Day Parade melodies.

Korean Singer Punch, who is behind "Stay with me," the original soundtrack of K-drama "Guardian," will stage a performance as well.

What to expect at travel fair

Beyond the opening ceremony, this year's Korea Travel Fair will last three days, between May 16 and 18, from 10:30am to 9pm at Plaza Singapura.

According to KTO, the event bears special significance as 2025 marks the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Korea and Singapore.

In particular, the travel fair will spotlight Korea's southern regions, such as Jeju and Busan, as well as lesser-known destinations, such as Gyeongsangnam-do and Jeollanam-do.

Besides learning more about Korea, attendees to the event can also participate in beauty workshops led by Korean beauty and fashion brands, such as Innisfree.

A daily lucky draw will also be held, with prizes ranging from dining vouchers, luggage, and return flight tickets to Korea for two.
