Michelin-listed unagi restaurant opening 1st S'pore outlet at Shaw Centre on Apr. 15

Japanese grilled eel restaurant Unagi Yondaime Kikukawa is opening an outlet in Singapore.
Hailing from Nagoya, Japan, the Michelin-listed eatery is set to open at Shaw Centre on Apr. 15.
This will be its first outlet in Singapore.
According to a press release, the restaurant handpicks its live unagi.
Upon filleting the unagi, it is then seared over binchotan charcoal a la minute, achieving a crisp, caramelised smoky skin and tender meat.
The unagi is then immersed in its house tare sauce, giving the dish its savoury-sweet flavour.

Hitsumabushi Set (S$37++)
Hitsumabushi is a local dish from Nagoya.
It can be enjoyed in three ways:
- Enjoyed as it is with grilled unagi over rice.
- Eaten with condiments
- Pour dashi (broth) over it and eat Ochazuke (tea with rice) style.
Kabayaki Ippon Unagi Set (S$48++)
The set comes with a plate of grilled eel, rice and miso soup.
Long queues in Japan
The restaurant is known for having long queues at its Japan outlets.
It currently has 33 outlets worldwide in regions like Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, Thailand and Korea.
