Long queue in VivoCity for Ben & Jerry’s Free Cone Day on Apr. 8

If you were at VivoCity today (Apr. 8), you would have noticed long queues forming on the second floor of the mall.
In case you didn't know, these people were queuing for Ben & Jerry's Free Cone Day.
The annual event is taking place till 8pm today.

The long queues
By around 12:30pm, Mothership observed that there was already a queue of about 300 people.
The queue stretched the perimeter of the mall, stretching about 20 stores down.

According to a staff member, those with trouble walking or the elderly can get a priority pass from staff members and queue in the priority lane.

Lines moved fast
When Mothership entered the queue at about 11:20am, there were about 40 people ahead of us.
A pair of teenagers waiting at the start of the queue told us that they had been waiting since 10:50am.
Towards the front the queue split into seven segments, based on the ice cream flavours.

By 12:10pm, we managed to get our free scoop of ice cream.
