PAP moves Gan Kim Yong to Punggol team against WP's Harpreet, Alexis Dang

The People's Action Party (PAP) has revealed its candidates for Punggol GRC. They are:

1. Deputy Prime Minister Gan Kim Yong
2. Janil Puthucheary
3. Sun Xueling
4. Yeo Wan Ling

The party kept DPM Gan's deployment a secret all the way until Nomination Day.

DPM Gan and his team are expected to go head to head with the Workers' Party in Punggol GRC, who are likely to field Harpreet Singh, Alia Mattar, Alexis Dang, Jackson Au.

A former civil servant, DPM Gan made his political debut in the 2001 general election as part of a five-member PAP team contesting in Holland–Bukit Panjang GRC and won by an uncontested walkover.

Over the last 24 years, DPM Gan has served as a Member of Parliament for Holland-Bukit Timah GRC and Chua Chu Kang GRC.
