Operations resume after EWL track fault resulted in extra 20 mins travel time between Queenstown & Boon Lay
Back to business.
Passengers travelling between Queenstown and Boon Lay on the East-West Line faced an additional 20 minutes of travelling time as a result of a track fault, SMRT announced in a Facebook post on Apr. 4.
The post was first put up at 1:31pm and has been updated several times since.
As of 4:08pm however, SMRT shared that normal train service has resumed, and free regular bus services have ceased.
Previously, shuttle trains were available between Jurong East and Lakeside stations, while free regular buses were available between Buona Vista and Boon Lay.
SMRT also advised commuters heading into the city to either change at Buona Vista and take the alternative route on the Circle Line, or to take the North-South Line train service and change to the Thomson-East Coast Line at Woodlands.
SMRT also added, "Please look out for fellow commuters in need and give a helping hand. We apologise for affecting your commute."
Faults occurred on the EWL Line on Sep. 25 and Oct. 10, 2024, with the former disruption lasting for six days before normal train service was restored.
