'The world's a bit messy right now' but let's stay 'steady': Chan Chun Sing at Buona Vista SG60 event
On everyone's mind.
At an SG60 event at Sports@Buona Vista, Education Minister and Tanjong Pagar GRC MP Chan Chun Sing gave a short speech at the beginning of the festivities.
After asking the audience to enjoy themselves during the event, Chan touched briefly on the happenings of the week, alluding to the tariffs imposed this week.
Speaking mainly in Mandarin, Chan asked the audience if "anything" big had happened this week.
He told the audience that the world or the global economic situation was quite messy now.
However he implored the audience not to worry, and that as long as everyone in Singapore stuck together, things would be ok.
He then reiterated that if everyone stayed "steady", things would work out.
"You steady, I steady. It will be fine if we are all steady," Chan said.
While he implored them not to panic, he did say it wouldn't be easy to navigate through the situation.

In his Facebook post later in the day, Chan elaborated that Singapore must stay focused at creating strong value propositions to attract businesses, and Singaporeans must stay united during such uncertain times.
