M'sia man punches female driver who got into accident with his family while they were crossing the road

A 35-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly attacking and injuring a female driver in Seremban, Malaysia on Mar. 29 after his wife and daughter were hit in an accident while crossing the road.

The 28-year-old driver ended up with bruised ribs and swelling to the back of her head.

Seremban district police chief Mohamad Hatta Che Din told Malaysian media on Mar. 30 that the alleged assault took place along Jalan Persiaran Senawang 4 in Seremban.

The victim, who was driving a car from Mydin Senwang to Senewang on Mar. 29, "could not avoid" the suspect's 34-year-old wife and seven-year-old daughter, who suddenly crossed the road at about 10:15pm, Hatta said.

Hatta added that the man then used force on the victim till she suffered bruising to her right ribs and swelling to the back of her head.

The 35-year-old man was arrested at the Seremban district police headquarters on the afternoon of Mar. 30, said Hatta according to Bernama.

The alleged assault

A clip of the incident shared to X showed a man in red approaching a silver Perodua Axis which had stopped on the road with its driver door open.

The man used a fist to hit the driver before shouting a Malay vulgarity.

The man then walked to the front of the car and carried a young girl to the road divider.

The driver tried to get out of the car but the man walked back and punched her again.

The man was then restrained by others at the scene.

Hatta said the suspect's wife and the daughter suffered minor injuries and were brought to Tuanku Ja'afar Hospital in Seremban for further treatment, The Star reported.

He urged the public not to speculate on the incident and reminded pedestrians to be careful when crossing roads.
