Mum of 3 young children arrested, among 76 nabbed for drug offences: CNB
Investigations into all arrested suspects are ongoing.
A mother of three was among 76 suspected drug offenders arrested in a recent anti-drug operation from Mar. 10 to 14.
In a Mar. 15 Facebook post, the Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) noted that two of her children, aged 12 and 14, were present during her arrest at home.
She had allegedly been abusing crystal methamphetamine, also known as ice, at home.
She also left the drugs and the the drug paraphernalia openly in a bedroom that the children had access to, said CNB.
The children have since been placed in the care of their next-of-kin.
The island-wide anti-drug operation covered areas including Bukit Merah, Chai Chee, Tiong Bahru, Jurong, and Yishun.It saw the seizure of over S$97,800 worth of drugs.
This included 462g of heroin, 357g of ice, 58g of cannabis, 11g of ketamine, 46g of ecstasy, and 76 Erimin-5 tablets.
Drug traffickers
The alleged offenders also included three Singaporeans who were arrested for suspected drug trafficking.
One man, aged 30, attempted to evade arrest by running away from the CNB officers.
He was caught.
Another two Singaporeans, a 28-year-old man and a 41-year-old woman, were arrested after a raid on a HDB flat in Bishan Street 12.
An assortment of drugs, including 430g of heroin, was recovered from the unit.
Investigations into all arrested suspects are ongoing.

Under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1973, it is an offence for a person to traffic in a controlled drug, offer to traffic in a controlled drug, or to do or offer any act of preparation for the purpose of trafficking in a controlled drug.
If found guilty of trafficking over 15g of diamorphine or pure heroin, an offender may face the death penalty.
