Around 20 households' water supply restored after underground pipe burst in Lavender
The water supply to the affected households was restored fully at 2:45am on Feb. 2.

An underground pipe burst and partially flooded French Road in Lavender, leading to some residents' water supply being affected on the evening of Feb. 1.
This included about 20 households in Block 801, Block 802, and Block 811 on French Road.
The issue was resolved at 2:45am on Feb. 2, with water supply to the affected households fully restored, said national water agency PUB.
Repair works on the damaged pipe were completed at around 9:30pm on Feb. 2, PUB told Mothership.
Water tank was brought in
Jalan Besar GRC MP Denise Phua said she was alerted to the incident at around 8pm, and that PUB and the Jalan Besar Town Council staff "got down to action" when they heard the news.
A water tank was brought in and repairs were still underway around midnight.
Grassroots volunteers and Jalan Besar Community Club staff also offered help to residents.
"I’m grateful to everyone for jumping into action despite it being a CNY season," Phua remarked.
PUB said the water supply to the affected households was restored fully at 2:45am, though repairs are still ongoing as excavation works are required to replace the affected section of the water pipe.
Auxiliary police officers were also deployed to help with traffic management as the repair works occupy part of the road at the Housing Board car park next to Block 811 French Road.
Just a day prior on Jan. 31, the town council said they were alerted to a water leakage issue between Blk 8A Jalan Kukoh MSCP and Blk 8 Jalan Kukoh.
PUB carried out repair work on-site, and temporarily provided water supply to the affected units while they worked to resolve the issue.
The work was completed at around 9:30pm on Feb. 2, and PUB subsequently reopened the service road at the HDB car park next to Block 811 French Road.
