S'pore-registered tanker reported unauthorised boarding outside S'pore waters, 1 crew member injured
No Singaporean crew was onboard.
The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) was alerted to the unauthorised boarding of a Singapore-registered chemical tanker on Feb. 28 at around 7am.
According to MPA, this occurred in the Singapore Strait outside Singapore Territorial Waters.
One crew member was reported injured, and medical evacuation for the member is underway.
The vessel is currently anchored in Singapore waters, and the Singapore Police Coast Guard and the Singapore Civil Defence Force have been activated to help.
All crew are accounted for, and no Singaporean crew was onboard.
MPA is issuing safety broadcasts so that vessels can maintain a vigilant watch.
"Safety of navigation along the Singapore Strait is not affected," said MPA.
