Man in Thailand facing lawsuit for repeatedly throwing puppy into sea, clip filmed in 2023
Poor pup.
A man was seen on video repeatedly tossing a puppy into the sea in Thailand, which has sparked outrage in the country.
Watchdog Thailand Foundation (WDT), a charity organisation, posted a video on Feb. 6 showing the man's antics.
The puppy could be seen struggling to swim back to shore, but the man kept throwing the dog back in.
The organisation wrote in the caption that the puppy was "terrified and shocked".
The organisation later revealed that the incident happened in September 2023 and told The Nation it occurred at Samui Island, in the Surat Thani province.
Plot thickens
In another post, WDT shared that the man in the video had fallen out with his friend, who decided to share the video on social media.
The organisation said the friend posted the video to "damage [the man's] reputation".
It also shared that the man in the video had surrendered himself to the police and expressed his apologies to the public.
The man explained that his actions were motivated by "youthful foolishness" and influenced by his friend filming the video.
The organisation then revealed that the man eventually brought the puppy home and entrusted it to his family, where it has given birth to puppies.
The organisation also shared a video of the dog running about.
The Nation also reported that the foundation has filed a lawsuit against the man who allegedly threw the stray puppy into the sea, vowing to seek justice despite the man’s subsequent apology.
It was also reported that the video clip owner apologised on his Facebook post in response to the foundation’s demand.
But he justified his action by claiming that the puppy was covered in ticks.
He also asked people to forgive him.
Man files complaint against friend
In the latest update, WDT shared that the man has filed a complaint under the Computer Crime Act against his friend who posted the video.
WDT added that the police will investigate and trace the person who posted the video online.
