South Korean parents allegedly abuse girl, 2, to death, force-fed her 'buldak' sauce & soju
The toddler weighed 6.9kg when she died, showing signs of extreme malnutrition.
A two-year-old toddler in South Korea died after being allegedly abused by her parents.
According to The Korean Herald, the toddler was found dead on Dec. 16, 2024, after the parents called emergency services to report that she had stopped breathing.
The parents are currently on trial for child abuse resulting in death.
Parents in their 30s
The parents are reportedly in their 30s.
The father has been arrested, while the mother has avoided physical detention.
During a court hearing on Feb. 6, it was revealed that the child was allegedly fed "buldak" sauce, which is known for being incredibly spicy.
This allegedly occurred a day before the child was found dead.
The parents apparently also gave the toddler soju, a Korean alcoholic beverage, after noticing that she was not feeling well.
The parents allegedly delayed calling for medical help by a day as they knew they would be exposed for their abuse.
When they did call for help, they apparently reported that the child was not breathing.
Other abuses come to light
During the trial, the prosecution also accused the parents of stopping a feeding tube for the baby as she was born prematurely and needed the device after being discharged, The Korean Herald reported.
Instead they force fed her baby food.
The prosecution also stated that the parents would frequently kick and beat the child, leading to multiple bruises and a skull fracture.
The Korean Herald reported that when the toddler died, she only weighed 6.9kg, showing signs of extreme malnutrition.
