JJ Lin rumoured to be dating model 20 years his junior, his rep responds

Homegrown Mandopop singer JJ Lin is rumoured to be in a new relationship.

Chinese media recently reported that he is dating model and internet influencer Annalisa Qiqi.

An online commenter, claiming to be a classmate of Qiqi, revealed that the rumoured flame is a model from Guangdong province, China and that the two met through a mutual friend at the end of 2023.

Qiqi, believed to be 23-year-old, is at least 20 years younger than Lin, who is turning 44 this year.

She currently has over 208,000 followers on Instagram.

On Feb. 10, Lin’s representative addressed the rumours, stating:

"We will not respond to any groundless rumours on the Internet. JJ's life is still centred on his music career. Thank you for your concern! His current state is to take good care of his health and hope to recover from the cold as soon as possible."

The representative did not confirm or deny the relationship but chose not to engage with the rumours.

Chinese online commenters react

The speculation has sparked divided discussions on Chinese social media platforms, including TikTok and Weibo.

Some fans pointed out JJ Lin's past interactions with Qiqi, including allegedly arranging a front-row seat for her at one of his concerts.

While some fans showed support and well-wishes, many expressed disappointment, saying they are going to to quit being his fans.

The hashtag, "Stop being a fan of JJ Lin", has garnered thousands of posts on Weibo.

However, others said it is natural for JJ Lin, at 44, to be in a relationship and expressed their support: "It's time for him to fall in love and get married. Fans should stop worrying. As long as he continues to create good music, that's enough".

Qiqi has yet to comment on the rumours.
