Man, 25, shoplifts S$480 tie clip at Changi Airport T2, gets arrested 6 days later while transiting in S'pore

A 25-year-old man was arrested for theft at Changi Airport Terminal 2.
The Singapore Police Force (SPF) said in a release that they were alerted to a case of shop theft on Jan. 23.
The shop discovered a tie clip priced at S$480 had gone missing.
Surveillance footage revealed that the man had entered the store to browse through items before taking the tie clip and slipping it into his left pocket.
He then left without paying.
When the man's identity was established, he had already departed Singapore.
Caught
The man was subsequently arrested on Jan. 28 when he returned to Singapore while in transit at Changi Airport.
The police also recovered the stolen tie clip from the man's possession.
The man will be charged in court on Feb. 4.
If found guilty, the man could face a maximum of seven years' imprisonment, a fine or both.
"The police take a serious view of shop theft cases and offenders will be dealt with firmly in accordance with the law," SPF said.
