DBS appoints MP Derrick Goh as group chief operating officer, a new role bank created
The 56-year-old is a Member of Parliament for Nee Soon GRC, who has been with DBS since 2008.
DBS announced on Feb. 12 that Derrick Goh, who is a Member of Parliament for Nee Soon GRC, will be group chief operating officer (COO) from Apr. 1.
He will oversee both the operations and transformation group in Singapore's largest bank.
The 56-year-old is currently head of group audit at the bank, a role he took on in 2018.
Goh has been with DBS since 2008 before he participated in the 2020 general election, and has held senior roles.
He was head of POSB and Consumer Banking Group (CBG) Distribution in Singapore before moving to lead the regional Treasures and Treasures Private Client wealth management business.
In DBS, he was regional COO and chief financial officer of Institutional Banking Group, as well as head of Finance, Group Planning and Analytics.
Another senior-level appointment
In another related senior-level appointment at DBS, Koh Kar Siong will take over from Goh as head of audit.
Koh, who is currently group head of corporate and SME (small and medium-sized enterprise) banking, will be a member of the bank’s management committee.
He joined DBS in 2003 and was head of SME banking in Singapore, besides having held key positions in the consumer banking group and wealth management.
