Birria tacos, churros & more at Muslim-owned restaurant in Kovan

Muslim-owned Mexican food joint Bored Tacos has opened a second outlet in Kovan.

Opened by the team behind popular bagel café Wooly’s Bagels, Bored Tacos offers a menu featuring burritos, tacos, quesadillas, and burrito bowls, with a variety of protein options, including chicken, fish, prawns, beef and lamb.

The Kovan outlet is larger than the first, with more seats for customers to dine in.

Here's what we tried:

Birria Beef Tacos (S$14.50)

Tender, slow-cooked Birria beef in a crispy tortilla, topped with onions and cilantro.

Served with consommé on the side.

Cajun Chicken Burrito Bowl (S$9.90)

Savoury rice topped with jack cheese, buttery corn, fresh salsa and Cajun chicken, drizzled with house-made Cajun sauce.

Cheese Quesadilla (S$10.50)

A blend of melted mozzarella and cheddar cheese, with tomato salsa, grilled between two tortillas.

Cinnamon Sugar Churros (S$9.90)

Crispy churros tossed in cinnamon sugar served with vanilla ice cream and house-made chocolate sauce.

Matcha Strawberry (S$7.50)

Strawberry purée swirled with milk, topped with a fluffy matcha-infused cloud.

Jarritos (S$4.20)

Mexico’s iconic sodas are available in Mango, Guava and Mandarin flavours.
