Big Dot Chicken at Chinatown Complex hawker centre closing by end April 2025
The stall has been open for less than a year.

Big Dot Chicken (BDC), a halal-certified food stall at the Chinatown Complex hawker centre, will close down by the end of April 2025, despite its popularity.
The social enterprise has been operating for slightly less than a year.
The business posted on social media on Feb. 17 saying that it intends to close the stall soon, but will continue as long as it still had stock of chicken.
The stall estimated that the supply could run out sometime in April, or earlier.
BDC said the stall started as a “dream” amongst friends to recreate a "nostalgic" fried chicken, but also to keep it affordable and tasty while costs continued to "rise everywhere".
The post said it did not intentionally set out to be compared to other larger chicken franchises, particularly those from the 1980s, and it was the customers who made the association.
BDC will be open from 11am to 3pm, from Tuesday to Thursday.
It serves an array of chicken in original and spicy varieties.
The chicken, encased in crunchy, golden batter, starts at S$1.50 for a wing, S$2 for a drumstick, and S$2.50 for a thigh.
Also available are combos with fries, as well as nasi lemak rice and waffles (S$1.50).
Thanks for the keychain
BDC is giving away a commemorative keychain with any combo purchased until the stall's final day, while stocks last.
It also thanked all the customers, influencers and guides who brought customers to the stall.
The post also said the stall had no marketing budget, which allowed it to keep the food tasty and affordable.
Any time an influencer or reviewer visited the stall, they paid for their own meals.
It also took some time to call out competitors who had checked it out, counted their lunch numbers, and sabotaged it with fake reviews by reporting their genuine five-star reviews as spam.
BDC said it knew what was happening and that it forgave them nonetheless, noting that the real competition were the “big hairy giants” out there and not fellow hawkers.
Wishing them all the best, the business said BDC has tried its best and would now pass the baton forward.
