If you have travel plans lined up for Thailand, listen up.
Temperatures this summer are expected to peak at 43°C, reported The Bangkok Post.
The season is forecast to start later than usual in end-February and will end in mid-May.
From the beginning of March, the upper parts of Thailand will experience hot weather and cool mornings.
But from end-March to mid-April, hot and humid weather is expected, with temperatures expected to peak at 42°C to 43°C.
Summer storms and rain are also expected in some areas.
Cold spell
The hot season follows a cold spell that was earlier projected to last till mid-February.
According to a previous projection by the Thai Meteorological Department, the upcoming summer is not expected to be as hot as last year, due to thunderstorms and high humidity.
In 2024, a heatwave led to record high temperatures, reaching 44.2°C in the northern province of Lampang.
