Singaporean actor Aaron Aziz, 48, revealed that his 14-year-old daughter, Dahlia, was at Setia City Mall in Setia Alam, Selangor when gunfire erupted on Feb. 8.

He made the revelation on TikTok on Saturday, the day of the incident.

His clip showed him driving near the mall in Malaysia around the time of the incident.

He was there to pick his daughter and her friend.

The incident reportedly involved a gunman firing several shots at a cleaner before fleeing the scene by hijacking a car to escape.

“There was a shooting at SCM. So I just came to get Dahlia and Amirah out of SCM,” said Aaron in the video.

In the caption, the Malaysia-based actor urged his followers to check on their loved ones to see if they were at the mall earlier.

He added that, according to his daughter, the whole mall was ordered to evacuate.

He then tagged her in the post, reminding her not to panic during an emergency.

Aaron has a son, Danish, 21, as well as an older daughter, Dwi, 18.

His wife is content creator Diyana Halik.

Gunman suspected to have been on drugs

Malaysia police have identified the shooter as a local man in his 30s with 11 prior criminal offences.

According to The Star, the police suspected that the gunman opened fire in anger after being told to move his belongings.

He fired several shots before fleeing.

He was also believed to have been under the influence of drugs at the time and had arrived at the shopping centre at around 10pm.

The male cleaning worker who got shot sustained injuries to his leg and buttocks but is in stable condition.
