600m-long glass water slide opens near KL, tickets from S$13 for adults

Thrill seekers rejoice.

A new 600m-long glass slide standing at 60 metres high just opened in Selangor, Malaysia.

The attraction, which opened its doors in December 2024, is located in Shah Alam city, which is around 40km or a 48-minute drive away from Kuala Lumpur.

Tickets start from S$10

According to a TikTok post, the slide, which is also the first-ever glass water slide in Malaysia, boasts a steep track and several loops.

Those gearing up for the ride can also expect colourful LED lights adorning the track, which light up at night.

Apart from the glass slide, visitors may also visit other attractions, such as a glass viewing deck offering a 360-degree view of the vicinity.

Adult admission tickets start at RM45 (S$13) for locals and RM55 (S$16) for foreigners, while tickets for children go for RM35 (S$10) for locals and RM45 (S$13).

Tickets can be purchased online via the i-City SuperApp or its website.

Ride is "perfectly safe", has no cracks

Despite the initial hype, the attraction's launch was also marked by a "safety concern" at the start.

Users on TikTok had pointed out a white sliver observed in between a glass panel along the track, initially believed to be a crack.

In response to the issue, i-City Malaysia shared another TikTok post on Jan. 18 to address the observation, highlighting that the white object was actually a lighting cable.

The caption wrote: "No cracks — just the wire cable effect! The longest glass slide at SkyCity is perfectly safe and ready for your thrilling adventure. Come see for yourself and enjoy the ride!"

In the post, the company also confirmed that it carries out "daily maintenance and checking" before allowing guests on the ride.
