Record Toto prize of RM121 million in M'sia split among 4 winners on Jan. 18

Four people in Malaysia have won the highest-ever Toto prize in the country on Jan. 18.

According to The Star, the RM121 million (S$36.78 million) prize money was split among four winners.

Three winners got RM35 million each, one got RM17 million

In a Facebook post on Jan. 18, lottery company Sports Toto Malaysia congratulated the winners.

The winners include one Standard Play punter, two System Play punters and one EZ-Bet punter.

According to another post by the company, the Standard Play and System Play winners received RM35 million (S$10.6 million) each.

An EZ-Bet punter won RM17 million (S$5.16 million).

High jackpot caused increased lottery tickets sale, long queues

Sports Toto Malaysia CEO Nerine Tan said the jackpot prize caused an increase in the sales of lottery tickets, reported The Star.

Long queues were also reportedly observed at Toto outlets across Malaysia.

According to New Straits Times (NST), two punters from Penang and Selangor had won the previous highest jackpot amount of RM97 million (S$29.47 million) in 2022.
