A herd of at least six wild elephants surrounded a car along a Malaysia Expressway.
Footage lasting approximately 1 minute and 21 seconds was shared by TikTok user Abdul Rahman and got about 1.1 million views, according to Bernama.
The tense situation involved the elephants approaching the car, shaking it and causing damage.
Footage shot from inside and outside of the car showed the elephants banding together to surround the vehicle.
The herd of elephants, including adults and juveniles, had been walking on the road, but then stopped to observe the car.
The driver could only stop and wait for the elephants to pass.
In a statement issued on Jan. 19 night, Ipoh police said the incident occurred on Jan. 18 at around 6:30pm.
The incident is believed to have occurred on the East-West Highway (JRTB) connecting Gerik to Jeli.
A white Perodua Bezza was involved.
The public is advised to exercise extra caution due to the presence of wildlife along the JRTB.
The driver eventually waited for the elephants to make enough space before driving away from them.
