A Singaporean man bumped into Johor Regent Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim while shopping for a football jersey at Queensway Shopping Centre on Monday afternoon Oct. 12.

To mark the occasion, Fuad Odem took a photo with the son of Malaysia’s king, Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar.

Fuad told Mothership he was shocked when Tunku Ismail entered the sports apparel shop at around 2:35pm.

The Singaporean was already inside browsing for a Democratic Republic of the Congo jersey when royalty suddenly appeared.

He saw about six bodyguards with Tunku Ismail.

"I said, 'Can I take a photo with you?'," Fuad recalled.

Tunku Ismail said, "Of course," according to Fuad.

"It's the best crazy day for me right before my birthday on Oct. 13, then suddenly bump into him," he added.

The Singaporean man turned 24 the day after the chance meeting.

Tunku Ismail was in town for the F1 Singapore Grand Prix.
