A fundraiser has been set up for the six-year-old son of the couple who died after a hit-and-run accident at Tampines Avenue 12.

The couple, both aged 24, died on Oct. 29 after a car crashed into their motorcycle and another car.

A 30-year-old man has since been charged with dangerous driving causing death, along with eight other charges.

A gag order was imposed on the victims' identities on Oct. 31.

As such, the media is prohibited from reporting the names and photographs of the victims and any identifiers.

Fundraiser

The fundraiser was set up on Give.Asia by the cousin of the deceased man, with the intention to establish a dedicated savings arrangement for the six-year-old boy.

A total of S$8,680 has been raised as of writing.

According to her, the couple was recently married and were planning to apply for a Built-to-Order (BTO) flat.

"No amount of money can replace the love of a mother and father," the cousin wrote.

"This campaign is for everyone who has reached out, asked how they can help and wanted to do something for this little boy."

She added that the family has come together to look after the boy, and will give him the support he needs and the opportunities he deserves as he grows up.

He is currently under the care of his late mother's family, while the family works towards settling his legal guardianship arrangements, she shared.
