S'pore PR, 32, jailed 8 months & 4 weeks for stabbing husband of girlfriend, 29, at Yishun void deck
The victim and the man's girlfriend was undergoing a divorce at the time.

A 32-year-old Singapore permanent resident, Prabhakaran Vinayaka, was sentenced to eight months and four weeks in jail for stabbing a 29-year-old man in Yishun in 2025.
The victim was the husband of Prabhakaran's girlfriend.
They were going through a divorce at the time.
Prabhakaran faced one charge of voluntarily causing hurt for the stabbing incident.
He faced five more charges for other offences, including receiving payment to open a bank account that was eventually used to funnel suspected criminal proceeds.
He pleaded guilty to three of the charges, with the rest taken into consideration during sentencing, Shin Min Daily News reported.
Stabbing incident
According to court documents, on the evening of Jun. 13, 2025, the victim, his wife and their daughter were at the void deck of Block 467B Yishun Avenue 6.
When the victim went down to the void deck to look for his daughter, the accused and the victim got into an argument.
During the argument, the accused stabbed the victim in his right chest.
This caused the victim to bleed from his right chest region.
Victim had 14cm stab wound in chest
The victim was sent to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital that same day for treatment, court documents stated.
He was found with a 14cm stab wound in his right chest and suffered from open pneuomothorax.
He also had superficial abrasion over his left jaw and superficial laceration over his left abdomen and left upper arm.
He was discharged on Jun. 18, 2025 and given 14 days of hospitalisation leave.
The accused was arrested on Jun. 15, 2025.
Accused's other charges
Apart from the stabbing incident, the accused was also found to have sold his internet banking details for S$600 in May 2024.
He was later paid an additional S$3,000 after the bank account was closed.
In October 2024, Prabhakaran also received a total of S$1,000 for opening a bank account on behalf of an unidentified individual, which was later used to funnel more than S$95,000 in suspected criminal proceeds.
He was also accused of riding a motorcycle without a valid license in February 2026.
Sought leniency
Prabhakaran pleaded guilty to his charges in court on Jun. 3, 2026.
He told the court that his girlfriend was pregnant and hoped the judge would be lenient, Shin Min wrote.
The judge sentenced him to eight months and four weeks in jail.
He was also handed a S$4,000 fine, or 10 days' imprisonment if the fine is defaulted.
Additionally, Prabhakaran was disqualified from holding or obtaining all classes of driving licenses for 24 months.
