Thai teens, 16 & 17, arrested for stabbing & robbing Australian tourist of S$5,500 in Pattaya guesthouse

Police in Pattaya, Thailand, worked with tourist police to arrest two teenagers aged 16 and 17 on May 5, 2026 after they were suspected to have stabbed an Australian tourist and robbed him of 140,000 baht (S$5,500) at a guesthouse in south Pattaya.
They were later charged for their actions, according to The Pattaya News.
This comes after the incident occurred on May 4, 2026, the Bangkok Post reported.
Invited teenagers to room
Alikosh Ghulam, the 45-year-old victim, told police he had invited two individuals he believed were women to his room late on May 4.
The Pattaya News reported that an argument broke out when he realised they were transgender.
One teen then pushed him into the bathroom and used a sharp object to stab him in the upper right chest area before both teens fled with his cash.

Arrested
Following this, Ghulam sought medical treatment before reporting the incident to the Pattaya City police, the Bangkok Post reported.

After tracing the two suspects to a condominium near the scene, officers arrested the teens identified as Phi, 17, and Priew, 16, who confessed to their actions.
Officers also seized a pair of scissors and some cash as evidence.

According to The Pattaya News, the teens were charged with jointly committing robbery at night with a weapon, or acting in concert with two or more people to facilitate the theft or removal of the stolen property.
They have since been handed over to an investigating officer at Pattaya City Police Station for further legal proceedings.
