SM Lee meets with Sultan of Pahang, former M'sia Agong
He also stopped in to view some large cats.

Senior Minister Lee Hsien Loong had an audience with Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al'Mustada Billah Shah of Pahang and his first wife Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah on May 5.

SM Lee was accompanied by his wife Ho Ching, as well as Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Social and Family Development Zhulkarnain Abdul Rahim and Member of Parliament Joan Pereira.

Tiger conservation
SM Lee is on a multi-day visit to Pahang and Terengganu, from May 4 to 8.
While on his way to Kuantan on May 4, he stopped at the Malayan Tiger Conservation Centre in Lanchang, Pahang.

There he was able to see some of the critically endangered animals.
He said on social media that “seeing these magnificent animals up close is a stark reminder of the need to protect the species.”

Longstanding ties
SM Lee said that his visit to the two Malaysian states built on the “strong momentum of bilateral exchanges,” and hoped that it would “strengthen Singapore’s longstanding and multifaceted ties with Malaysia’s states and their leaders.”
SM Lee will also meet Pahang’s Menteri Besar (Chief Minister) Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail, along with other state leaders.
Similarly in Terengganu, he will be met by the state’s MB Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar.
SM Lee has met with the Sultan on several previous occasions, notably in 2022 when Abdullah was serving a five-year term as Agong.
On that occasion, Abdullah was visiting Singapore on a state visit, and SM Lee hosted the then Agong for lunch.
