Longstanding ties

SM Lee said that his visit to the two Malaysian states built on the “strong momentum of bilateral exchanges,” and hoped that it would “strengthen Singapore’s longstanding and multifaceted ties with Malaysia’s states and their leaders.”

SM Lee will also meet Pahang’s Menteri Besar (Chief Minister) Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail, along with other state leaders.

Similarly in Terengganu, he will be met by the state’s MB Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar.

SM Lee has met with the Sultan on several previous occasions, notably in 2022 when Abdullah was serving a five-year term as Agong.

On that occasion, Abdullah was visiting Singapore on a state visit, and SM Lee hosted the then Agong for lunch.
