Jumbo Seafood will be closing its flagship outlet at East Coast Seafood Centre when its lease expires on Sep. 30.
The restaurant chain’s parent company reportedly announced the closure on May 29, according to The Business Times (BT).
The outlet was established in 1987 as the first location of the popular seafood restaurant chain.
East Coast Seafood Centre redevelopment
The group said its landlord, the National Parks Board, is studying the redevelopment of East Coast Seafood Centre in tandem with the park's longer-term plans.
The closure will likely affect the group’s revenue for the financial year 2027, BT reported.
It accounted for around 14 per cent of Jumbo Group's revenue for the financial year ending in Sep. 2025.
Jumbo Seafood has six other outlets in Singapore, including at Riverside Point, Dempsey Hill, Ion Orchard, Jewel Changi Airport, The Riverwalk and Resorts World Sentosa.
They also have outlets in China, South Korea, Thailand and Cambodia.
