U.S. President Donald Trump has been evacuated from the White House Correspondents' Dinner after suspected gunshots were heard, various media outlets reported on the morning of Apr. 26 (Singapore time).
The dinner is an annual tradition in Washington DC, held by the organisation of journalists tasked with covering news from the White House. The president traditionally attends the dinners.
AP has reported that the president, Vice President JD Vance and members of the Cabinet attending the dinner have been safely evacuated with no injuries.

Pictures from the wires and social media show Health and Human Services Secretary Robert Kennedy Jr and Speaker of the House Mike Johnson being led away by Secret Service agents.
AP cited a "law enforcement official", who said that a shooter had opened fire within the Hilton hotel in Washington DC, where the dinner is taking place.
AP added that a "security incident" took place outside the ballroom where the dinner was being held.
