Sober pool party for 15-year-olds in S'pore changed to trivia night after safety of minors flagged
One netizen commented that she is a mother of two and "cannot imagine if my teenagers decide to attend this".
A sober pool party in Singapore marketed to those aged 15 and above has since been rebranded into a trivia night.
This was after the event drew online backlash over concerns for youth safety.
The original event, "Flow State", organised by Party With Mythic, would supposedly feature a DJ set, 8days reported.
It was set to take place on Apr. 18, 2026 from 2pm till late at the rooftop pool of El Chido, a Mexican cocktail bar at Pullman Singapore Hill Street hotel.
Online users raised concerns in response regarding the safety of minors and argued why they thought the event should be avoided.
In response, Pullman Singapore Hill Street issued a statement saying the event was not confirmed and "no signed contract exists authorising the event to proceed at our premises":
Pullman Singapore Hill Street is aware of recent online publications and social media content referencing a purported event allegedly scheduled to take place at our property.
We would like to clarify that this event was never organised, endorsed, or approved by Pullman Singapore Hill Street in any capacity.
At no point was a fully executed agreement in place, and no signed contract exists authorising the event to proceed at our premises.
We further confirm that the use of Pullman Singapore Hill Street’s name, branding, and logo in connection with this event was entirely unauthorised and misleading. We have requested the immediate removal of all such references and reserve all rights in relation to the unauthorised use of our intellectual property and brand assets.
Pullman Singapore Hill Street maintains strict compliance standards and a zero-tolerance approach to any activity that may compromise legal, safety, or reputational integrity. We take these matters extremely seriously and reserve all rights to take further action as appropriate.
'Big brother'
Noting that he was addressing his viewers like a "big brother", TikToker "ruggerbud47" advised his viewers not to attend the event if they were thinking of doing so.
"You're going to an event with no guarantees of your safety, and the organisers themselves have nothing on their minds other than profit," he said.

Adding that "any adult that you meet there that is 18+ is not a good person", he said that "it is not normal for someone that's an adult to want to be mingling with people who are underage".
Alcohol
"There's nothing stopping people from pre-drinking before the event, or bringing water bottles with alcohol in them," he noted.
"And it's not just about the alcohol, it's the fact that we have a lot of sexual assault cases between minors and adults in Singapore," he said, arguing that "the last thing we [want to] do is host an event that gives opportunities to these child predators to be able to have access to these children so freely".

Another TikToker "krystajoy" questioned the "safety measures that will be taken to ensure that everyone is truly sober".
She asked: "Will there be breathalyser tests at the door? Will you be patting everyone down to make sure nobody's smuggling alcohol in?"
She added: "Just because you do not sell the alcohol or the vapes as the organisers or the event venue, does not make it a sober party."
Sense of community
Likewise, local musician Masha Nyanna said it "hits a special kind of nerve when I see adults purposefully creating harmful environments for children like this".

Having been involved in youth-centred events, she supports the importance of creating spaces for teenagers to make new friends, but encouraged youths searching for a sense of community to explore other events.
This includes those organised by the Singapore Children's Society, which allow youths to mingle and take part in activities outside a clubbing environment.

Online users have also described the event to be "weird" and "disturbing", with one commenting that she is a mother of two and "cannot imagine if my teenagers decide to attend this".
"Please tell me the police are aware and will cancel this," she added.
Rebranding
As of 8pm on Apr. 14, 2026, checks by Mothership on the "trivianightswithus" Instagram page showed that there were no posts, except for a description that read "stay tuned".
Instagram stories on its page stated that the organisers were aware of the concerns raised online and decided to change their concept.

"Now we will be doing trivia nights," one Instagram story stated.
Another story read: "You heard it right, no more events, no more dancefloor, no more dancing. Just straight up pure ball knowledge."
"You can still check out other 15+ parties, but we ain't gonna continue," they wrote.
