A Woodlands resident discovered that shoes belonging to his twins, which had been left on a rack outside their home, had gone missing.

The incident occurred on the morning of Apr. 10 at an HDB block along Woodlands Drive 73.

After checking CCTV footage, the resident found that a man had taken the shoes and thrown them down the rubbish chute.

Police report lodged

The footage was later shared on Facebook by the resident.

The footage showed a man wearing gloves going up to the unit and making sure the coast was clear before squatting to select his pick of shoes.

He can be seen taking one pair of sneakers and three pairs of Crocs.

He then scurried off to the rubbish chute and threw the shoes down.

Some commenters suggested there might have been prior history between the resident and the man, but the resident told Mothership he had never seen the man before.

He said he was "angry" that his children’s shoes were taken and hopes the man can be caught.

He added that another Woodlands resident had also claimed to have a similar experience, losing three pairs of ladies’ footwear.

In response to Mothership’s queries, the police confirmed that a report has been lodged and investigations are ongoing.
