Zouk Group has officially reopened its premium nightclub Capital, marking the first completed phase of a broader refurbishment of its nightlife venues at Clarke Quay.
The club welcomed guests back on Thursday, Mar. 12, with a reopening event attended by members of Singapore’s social and creative circles, as the venue debuted a refreshed look and updated programming aimed at redefining its place within Singapore’s nightlife scene.
Redesigned venue
Capital’s return comes about two months after it became the first of Zouk’s club spaces to shut for renovation works under the group’s wider multi-million-dollar overhaul announced in January.
At the time, Zouk Group said Capital would close first on Jan. 17, followed by Phuture and the Zouk Mainroom in phases, with all venues targeted to reopen by June 2026 ahead of the brand’s 35th anniversary.
The redesigned venue was created by international creative studio Josh Held Design, with the concept centred around encouraging social interaction rather than spectacle.
Among the most prominent features is the return of Capital’s signature island bar, now redesigned as a glowing focal point at the centre of the club.
The venue also now includes a private karaoke room that can accommodate up to 25 people, equipped with a dry bar and dedicated bartender service for private celebrations and group gatherings.
Reopening night drew familiar faces
The reopening celebration drew a crowd that included Germaine Leonora, Julie Tan and Jade Seah.
Guests arrived on a navy carpet before the evening moved into a contemporary lion dance performance accompanied by champagne service.
Resident DJs Rattle and Gainzter later took over the decks, opening the night’s music programme as guests experienced the refreshed venue for the first time.
Weekly themed nights
Following the relaunch, Capital will resume regular themed nights across the week.
Thursdays will focus on hip-hop and R&B, while Fridays will feature open-format sets blending mainstream tracks and EDM.
Saturday programming will rotate across four recurring concepts: SURGE, focused on festival-era EDM classics; EDITION, centred on 2000s R&B and hip-hop; GLAM, spotlighting female DJs; and TOTAL RECALL, which continues Capital’s long-running nostalgia-driven format featuring pop hits from the 1990s and 2000s.
Andrew Li, chief executive officer of Zouk Group, said the relaunch offers an early glimpse of wider changes planned across the group’s Singapore outlets.
“Capital represents everything we hold dear: genuine connection, exceptional experiences, and a close-knit community,” he said.
Capital is located within Zouk Singapore at Clarke Quay.
