The police have arrested a 36-year-old man for voluntarily causing hurt against a young person.

This was after a police report was filed against him by the family of the child.

The family told Mothership that the incident happened at around 12pm on Mar. 6, near the Block 875 Woodlands Street 82 bus stop, according to the family's helper, who was with the boy at the time.

The man, who was a classmate's father, had allegedly grabbed the boy by the collar in anger and slapped him across the face.

This was allegedly after the boy had gestured with his middle finger during a game.

When the helper tried to pull the boy away, the man reportedly held on to the boy and slapped him again, harder. The boy broke down crying.

Investigations are ongoing.
