Local cafe, deli and grocer The Providore Singapore announced on Instagram that it has ceased operations from Mar. 9, 2026.

The cafe thanked patrons for their “long-term support and kindness” and did not disclose the reason for the closure.

They added: “Partings come, but flavour and memories last forever. We look forward to meeting you again in another form in the future.”

The Providore Singapore had outlets at Downtown Gallery, Mandarin Gallery, PLQ, VivoCity, Wisma Atria, Raffles Place and a warehouse store at Ayer Rajah.

A check on Google Maps showed the VivoCity outlet being listed as permanently closed on Mar. 9 afternoon.

Founded in 2013

The brand was founded in 2013 and sold to new investors in April 2025, with founder Robert Collick exiting the business.

Vino Vibe Pte. Ltd. was announced to have bought and invested in The Providore Singapore on Apr. 10, 2025.

Staff only told on the day itself

A staff that spoke to Mothership said employees turned up to work as usual on Mar. 9 and were only informed of the closure in the morning.

A lot of the products in the outlets appeared to have been cleared overnight, the staff added.

"It is really so sad that the company never take into consideration the impact this will have on the employees who have their own various commitments. No empathy, no practical solutions were offered to the affected staff too," they added.
