Restaurant reservation platform Quandoo will progressively cease operations in Singapore by Dec. 31, 2026.

In an update on its website on Mar. 24, the company said that the move is a "business decision" to "undertake a planned and orderly wind-down process" after a "strategic portfolio review".

The closure is also part of a global wind-down, with new bookings set to be phased out on Sep. 30.

Diners can book, browse and earn or redeem loyalty points until Sep. 30

Under the timeline announced, users can continue to browse restaurants and make reservations on the platform until Sep. 30.

Existing reservations will remain valid, as bookings are held directly with restaurants rather than the platform.

However, users are advised to save their confirmation emails and contact restaurants directly for any changes after the cutoff date.

They may also continue earning loyalty points until Jun. 30, with the last date of redemption being Sep. 30.

After that, Quandoo will stop accepting new bookings and transition into a static, informational platform until "fully taken offline".

The platform's website, app, and all remaining infrastructure will be permanently shut down on Dec. 31.

Service fees waived for partner restaurants listed on platform

Restaurants listed on Quandoo will not be affected by the closure and will continue operating as usual.

For merchant partners, the platform will remain fully functional until the end of September 2026.

As part of Quandoo's support plan for partners, all service fees will also be waived for the final six months of operations so that they "have the time and flexibility to plan" their next steps.

Businesses have also been encouraged to explore alternative reservation systems and export their data by the end of 2026.

Affected Singapore-based employees

It is currently unclear how many employees in Singapore will be affected by the closure.

Apart from Singapore, the platform also operates in Australia, Austria, Finland, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Switzerland, Turkey and the United Kingdom (U.K.).

Mothership has reached out to Quandoo and Food, Drinks & Allied Workers Union (FDAWU) for comment.
