Car catches fire at Ang Mo Kio junction, bus service 853 towards Yishun diverted
Investigations ongoing.
A car was seen on fire at the junction of Ang Mo Kio Avenue 1 and 8 on Mar. 10.
In response to Mothership's queries, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said it was alerted to the incident at about 2:10pm.
They extinguished the fire using a water jet.
There were no reported injuries.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Videos and photos sent in by Mothership readers showed the car completely engulfed in flames and thick black smoke billowing out.

The car was directly beneath the overhead tracks of the North-South Line.
Two police cars and two SCDF vehicles were at the scene.
Several vehicles on the road were also unable to cross the junction.
Bus service diverted
Tower Transit Singapore posted on Facebook at around 2:45pm that bus service 853 towards Yishun Interchange will be diverted due to a vehicle fire along Ang Mo Kio Avenue 1.
Three bus stops — Block 332, 354, and 346, will be skipped, they said.
They also apologised for the inconvenience caused.
