Man caught on CCTV pinning down & cutting fur off Everton Park community cat at its sleeping area
Please leave Timmy alone.
A community cat in Everton Park has once again been harassed, this time having its fur forcefully cut by a man with a pair of scissors.
The black-furred cat, named Timmy, previously had water spat directly at its sleeping area by a different individual in May 2025.
Man approached Timmy with scissors
A resident, who wished to remain anonymous, told Mothership that the latest incident occurred at around 5:30pm on Feb. 7, 2026.
In clips of the incident shared on an Instagram account dedicated to Timmy, a man dressed in a brown T-shirt and shorts could be seen approaching the black cat, which was blocked from the view of the closed-circuit television.
The man had a pair of white gloves on and a pair of scissors in his hand.

He walked straight to Timmy and reached towards him with the scissors.
At one point, the man could be seen flinching as the feline reacted to the act.

The man persisted in the act despite Timmy's struggles, pinning the cat down with one hand while continuing his attempt to snip the cat's coat.
The cat eventually leapt out of its resting spot, but the man continued pursuing the cat.
According to the video, Timmy eventually escaped by hiding in a drain.

Bald spots and whiskers cut
According to the resident, this was the first time the man was seen in the area.
Timmy's carer noticed bald patches on his coat 30 minutes after the incident occurred.
These patches were found on Timmy's head and around his hind leg.
The cut was also "super close" to his skin, and Timmy's whiskers were cut off as well, the resident told Mothership.
Thankfully, Timmy wasn't hurt.
Tufts of Timmy's black fur were later found littering the corridor and Timmy's basket in the aftermath of the incident.

A report has been lodged with the Animal and Veterinary Service (AVS) by Timmy's carers.
Responding to queries from Mothership, Director of Enforcement and Investigations at National Parks Board (NParks) Joshua Teoh said that NParks is aware of the allegations involving a man cutting the fur and whiskers of a cat at Everton Park on Feb. 7.
Teoh said that NParks was looking into the matter.
"Safeguarding animal welfare is a shared social responsibility," Teoh said, adding that members of the public are reminded to promptly report suspected animal welfare cases to NParks.
They may do so at go.gov.sg/reporttoavs or call NParks' Animal Response Centre at 1800-476-1600.
Teoh said NParks takes all feedback received from the public seriously, and investigates it thoroughly if there is sufficient information provided.
"As with all investigations, all forms of evidence are crucial, and photographic and/or videographic evidence provided by the public will help," he said.
