M'sia philanthropist's house splashed with red paint, debt collectors apparently got the wrong house
Wrong address.
The house of a Malaysian philanthropist was mistakenly splashed with red paint and had a debt notice pasted on it in the early hours of Jan. 29, 2026.
It was allegedly being targeted by debt collectors, who supposedly went after the wrong house, Sin Chew Daily reported, adding that the philanthropist was abroad on business at that time.

The incident was discovered at around 11am on Jan. 29 when the maid responsible for cleaning the house discovered red paint splashed on the front door.
The maid added that four bags, which once contained paint, were found at the scene.

In addition, images by Sin Chew Daily showed that red paint was also splashed on an exterior wall of the house, floor tiles where a car was parked, as well as on the rear of the car.

Debt notice with neighbour's address
Speaking to Sin Chew Daily, the philanthropist's mother, Liu Xiuzhen, noted that there was a debt notice pasted on the iron front gate that supposedly had a Singapore-registered phone number on it.

However, the address listed on the debt notice was the neighbour's address.
Liu added that the neighbour's relatives subsequently received a call from the supposed debt collectors, who admitted to demanding the repayment of debt from an innocent party.
Following this incident, the matter has been handed over to the police for further action.
