Malaysian influencer Bryan Wee, more commonly known by his online pseudonym Bai En, will no longer post content under his female persona.

Wee, who had living as Bai Enfor five years, announced the decision in a TikTok video posted on Jan. 1, 2026.

As part of his female persona, Wee had grown out his hair, worn makeup, and dresses.

Over the years, Wee had also been subject to controversies and criticisms, including when he posted a video of himself entering a female toilet at an airport in May 2025.

No regrets

Wee began his video by asking his audience in Mandarin whether they thought he looked pretty in a wedding gown.

He said this would be the last time he would wear the gown and proceeded to cut his hair.

Wee then announced that he did not want to be a woman or an online influencer anymore.

"I want to become a man again. Over the years, I had fun [playing my female online persona]. I had experienced being a woman, wearing girly outfits, and growing out my hair. All these things, I do not regret going through any of them," added Wee.

He said he wished to become a man again because it was "what he wanted more at the moment".

Wee also shared that he would keep the hair he cut as a keepsake.

In the video caption, Wee also penned a farewell letter to his online persona in Mandarin:

"At this juncture, I feel that my world has lightened up. I think everything has become better.

These last five years, I was really happy.

But it is time to bid farewell to everything. Moving forward, I want to experience something entirely new, and I hope everyone can support me.

I want to thank the girl (his online persona) who had been accompanying me for five years. She was brave, and I loved her very much.

However, I do not want her to be wronged and bullied by this world anymore.

I will protect her. If no one loves her, I will do so."

Promised never to dress as a woman again

Later in the video, Wee returned into the camera frame with short hair, dressed in a white suit.

He told his audience, "Regardless of what I did previously, whether good or bad, let's forget them in this new year."

"We all learn new things as we age, and I am learning to become a more outstanding, better person," added Wee.

Wee concluded his video by promising that he would never again dress in girly outfits for views.

He asked for his audience's support, adding that while his new person may be less eye-catching, it would not be disappointing.

Missed female persona

Following his Jan. 1 announcement, Wee posted another TikTok video of himself celebrating the launch of his male persona with a birthday cake.

He also posted a TikTok video on Jan. 2 showing behind-the-scenes footage of his Jan. 1 video.

In the Jan. 2 video, Wee shared in tears that he really missed his female persona.

In the caption, he also wrote that he wished he could live as his female persona for the rest of his life, but her time was up.

"If someone loved her before she was gone, maybe the ending would be different.

No one knew how many side eyes she had endured over the years.

The world could not accept her, even though she really wanted to be accepted."

Wee added that the change in his online persona did not change him as a person.

"From now on, I will, with my renewed self, protect the version of myself who passed on. I will not let anyone hurt her anymore," wrote Wee.

In all three videos, TikTok users flooded the comments section with supporting remarks.
