According to the video, the incident took place at Jalan Austin Heights, where cars were parked in a row in front of shops.
The man, dressed in a blue t-shirt, was seen observing the car travelling towards him before stepping out and positioning himself in front of the vehicle.
He apparently lunged forward onto the bonnet, before sliding off it dramatically and falling onto the road.
The video caption highlighted that the man "forgot" that many vehicle owners have installed dashcams these days to record road incidents.
The caption also suggested that the same man had previously pulled off a similar stunt in other parts of Malaysia.
It is not known if a police report was lodged.
