A sesame oil chicken restaurant chain in Taiwan, called Chuang Chia Pan, recently fell victim to what appears to be a targeted attack across several of its outlets.

Three men have been arrested after dumping unidentified powder from plastic bags into pots of sesame oil chicken stew while the staff were not paying attention, reported The Liberty Times.

According to Taipei Times, police believe each man carried out the attacks at three to four outlets.

A total of 10 restaurants across six districts were affected.

Police investigating

The suspects, aged 21, 22 and 25, were caught after police reviewed the restaurants' closed-circuit television footage.

Thankfully, no restaurant patrons were affected by the mystery substance, the chemical composition of which police are still working to identify.

Police have deemed the incidents potentially dangerous to public safety and are currently investigating the motive behind the attacks.

A person connected to the chain who has gambling debts is also reportedly being looked into.
