S'pore man, 50, cries after fight with 70-year-old, says he doesn't want to go police station
Both men sustained minor injuries but refused conveyance to the hospital.
Two men, aged 50 and 70, were arrested after they allegedly fought at a coffeeshop at Block 19 Ghim Moh Road in Dover on the evening of Jan. 13.
The coffeeshop manager, surnamed Zhang (transliteration), told Shin Min Daily News that he heard the dispute occurred after one of the men asked the other for money to buy drinks.
However, others at the scene claimed that the altercation took place after the men bumped into each other while walking past the coffeeshop.
Allegedly attacked other man with umbrella
When Shin Min reporters arrived at the coffeeshop at around 8pm on Jan. 13, the two elderly men had already left the scene.
The coffeeshop manager, surnamed Zhang (transliteration), shared that both of them frequented the area for drinks.
At around 5pm, he saw one of the men, dressed in black, hitting the other, dressed in a floral-printed shirt, with an umbrella.
In response, the man in the floral print used his hands to defend himself, recounted Zhang.
Another patron of the coffeeshop, surnamed Chen (transliteration), also claimed that the fight was so intense that the umbrella was damaged in the process.
Scene of fight caught on CCTV camera
The physical dispute was also captured on CCTV surveillance at the coffee shop.
In the footage seen by Shin Min, the two men could be seen wrestling on the floor.
After Zhang separated them, both of them appeared to have sustained visible injuries.
However, around two minutes later, the man in black dashed towards the other men again, resuming the fight.
It was only after Zhang intervened again that the two men went their separate ways, with the man in black leaving the scene.

Man in black allegedly returned to coffeeshop with scissors hours later
However, at around 7pm, the man in black returned to the coffeeshop, Shin Min reported.
At the time, the man in floral prints was drinking on one side of the coffeeshop.
Upon locating him, the man in black dashed towards him and pulled him off his chair onto the floor, claimed Zhang.
"I saw the man in black holding a pair of scissors, so I rushed over and held back his hand until he let go of the other man," added Zhang.
A photo capturing the aftermath of the incident showed paramedics applying a bandage to the man in black's arm.
Blood stains could be seen on the other man's floral-printed shirt.
Diner alerted police
According to Zhang, the altercations throughout the eveningĀ lasted no more than two minutes, and no bystanders were injured, reported Shin Min.
After a diner at the coffeeshop notified the police, several police officers arrived at the scene and interviewed the two men, recounted Chen.
Police investigations lasted around 45 minutes, during which a few individuals, believed to be family and friends of the two men, arrived at the scene as well.
"At one point, the man in floral prints began to cry, saying that he did not want to go to the police station. Eventually, both men left with the police," added Chen.
