The Workers' Party (WP) has weathered many challenges over the years, and its commitment to serving the people of Singapore remains unwavering, the party said in a statement to the media following the outcome of WP Secretary-General Pritam Singh's appeal in the Raeesah Khan case.

His appeal was dismissed by the court on the morning of Dec. 4.

WP said that it was studying the court's verdict and grounds of decision.

"We are deeply grateful to everyone who has stood with us, in moments of progress and through difficult times," the statement read.

"Our work in service of Singaporeans continues. We will persevere in our efforts to earn the trust and support of all Singaporeans," it continued.

The statement was also shared on WP's Facebook page.

'Disappointed' with verdict

Speaking at a doorstop after the court delivered its verdict, Pritam said he was "disappointed" with the verdict, but will respect and accept it without reservation.

Singh was convicted for lying to the committee of privileges about his role in Raeesah Khan's lie in parliament.

He was fined S$7,000 each for two charges under the Parliament (Privileges, Immunities and Powers) Act.

He was seen paying the fines on the day his appeal was dismissed.
