A 22-year-old man attempted to jump off a building at Woodlands Close on Dec. 14, 2025.
This occurred at a hobbyist event, according to a Mothership reader. The reader was not present at the event but had heard about the incident from his friends.
He told Mothership that the man who attempted to jump was also a fellow hobbyist.
Attempted to jump
Another Mothership reader, who wanted to be known as Chiam, who was there, said that the 22-year-old attempted to jump from the eighth floor.
Before this, Chiam arrived at the event slightly past 9:30 am to buy tickets, noting that the 22-year-old man arrived a few hours later.
He was said to have returned to safety by himself after many event attendees intervened.
Chiam told Mothership that there were two people extending their hands out to the man, while others shouted at him, telling him to come down and convincing him not to jump.
A police report was subsequently made, and the man was later taken away.
Following the incident, the man allegedly texted his friends via WhatsApp, apologising for his behaviour, saying his actions were due to personal issues and getting bullied.
In response to Mothership's queries, the police said that they received a call for assistance at Woodlands Close on Dec. 14 at about 2:30 pm.
A 22-year-old man was apprehended under Section 7 of the Mental Health (Care and Treatment) Act 2008, and no injuries were reported.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) told Mothership that they were alerted to the incident, but that SCDF's assistance was not required.
