At least 2 dead & 8 critically injured after Brown University shooting, shooter still at large
Multiple exams had been scheduled to take place in the building at the time of the shooting, according to the university.
At least two people were killed, and eight critically injured in a shooting at Brown University, in Providence, Rhode Island, United States.
According to media reports, the shooting took place on Dec. 13 at the Barus and Holley building, which houses the Ivy League university's engineering and physics departments.
The university sent an emergency alert at 4.22 pm local time (5.22 am SGT) reporting "an active shooter near Barus and Holley engineering", CNN reported.

Multiple exams had been scheduled to take place in the building at the time of the shooting, according to the university.
Providence Mayor Brett Smiley said at a news briefing that the shooter remains at large, and authorities urged people in the area to remain in lockdown.
Law enforcement described the suspect as a man dressed all in black.
The gunman was last seen leaving the building, and no weapon had been recovered, authorities said.
US President Donald Trump has responded to the news, calling the incident a "terrible thing".

Trump had initially posted an update on Truth Social saying that the shooter was in custody, but clarified the situation in his next message.
A manhunt is currently underway to find the shooter.
