WhatsappThailand's Prime Minister and Interior Minister Anutin Charnvirakul will be making an first official visit to Singapore on Nov. 7, at the invitation of Prime Minister Lawrence Wong.

This will be his first visit to Singapore as Prime Minister since taking office on Sep. 7.

The visit coincides with the 60th anniversary of diplomatic ties between Thailand and Singapore, as Thailand was among the first countries to recognise Singapore's independence in 1965.

On his visit, Anutin will call on President Tharman Shanmugaratnam, hold a bilateral meeting with PM Wong and oversee the exchange of bilateral Memoranda of Understanding (MOU) in areas such as food security and healthcare.

He will also be hosted to an official lunch and will visit the National Orchid Garden, where a new orchid hybrid will be named in his honour.

While this will be the first time Anutin and PM Wong are holding an official meeting in the capacity of Prime Ministers, they were noted to have met on the sidelines of the Asean Summit in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia at the end of October.

Anutin was also recently visited by Senior Minister Lee Hsien Loong in Bangkok on Nov. 3, where SM Lee paid respects to the late Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother.
