A giant stingray was caught at Bedok Jetty on the night of Nov. 20 after a 45-minute ordeal involving three anglers.
It apparently weighed over 45kg.
The ray was caught by an angler named Apis, according to a post by a fishing store in Bedok congratulating him on the achievement.

Took three men 45 minutes
A experienced angler called Alo said in a Facebook post and on his blog that he and another angler, Leong, helped on the line and to haul the ray in.
The ray was brought in at around 8:23pm that evening.
It weighed 45.3kg, Alo wrote.

Initially, Alo said that he and Leong were at the jetty when they heard the sound of a reel "screaming".
He said that they then heard Apis call for help while holding onto the rod and fighting hard.
He noted that the bait used was anchovy, not squid.
After taking the bait around the mid-way point of the jetty, the stingray's struggles on the line dragged Apis all the way to the end of the jetty, Alo wrote.
The two went over to lend him a hand.
Three hooked poles, also known as gaffs, were required for the three men to haul it over the railing.
Alo added that it could be the biggest fish caught at Bedok Jetty in 2025, with just over one month to go till the end of the year.
A video on social media by the third angler, Leong, showed Apis' efforts that evening to haul in the stingray.

After the successful catch, a look of exhaustion was written on his face.
Leong said in response to a comment that the entire ordeal took 45 minutes.
Background
It is uncertain what the exact species of the stingray is, although it could be narrowed down to two species, the whitespotted whipray (Maculabatis gerrardi) and the sharpnose whipray (Maculabatis macrura).
Both are endangered species under the IUCN Red List.
However, both species are commonly found in fishery ports in Singapore and also sold in hawker centres as sambal stingray, according to The Straits Times.
