Man, 46, sent to hospital after accident involving SBS bus & white Toyota near NEX

An SBS Transit bus 53 reportedly got into an accident with a white Toyota on Oct. 6 near NEX in Singapore.

Two videos posted by TikTok user Sei Yang and a video on Facebook account "Singapore Incidents" showed an SBS Transit bus 53 stopped in the middle of the road behind a white car.

Outside NEX

According to the videos, the accident appeared to have taken place at the junction near NEX shopping mall.

One of the white Toyota's front wheels had come loose.

There were also other items on the ground near the car.

The bumper of the SBS Transit bus was badly damaged and dented.

A crack was visible on the front screen. Its license plate was also hanging off the bus.

Bus off service

Passengers could be seen alighting from the bus.

A series of photos by the TikTok user showed that the bus was "off service" following the accident.

Injuries

In response to Mothership's queries, the police stated they were alerted on Oct. 6 at about 9:50pm to an accident involving a car and a bus at the junction of Upper Serangoon Road and Serangoon Central.

In response to Mothership's queries, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) stated that a 46-year-old male driver was conveyed to Tan Tock Seng Hospital in a conscious state by SCDF.

In response to queries from Mothership, SBS Transit spokesperson Grace Wu said none of the bus passengers or bus captain were injured and required hospital treatment.

She added: "We apologise to affected passengers for the distress and inconvenience caused.

"We have also reached out to the car driver who received outpatient treatment. Meanwhile, we are assisting the Police with its investigations."

Police investigations are ongoing.
