Brazilian fashion influencer & fiance die in 3-way highway collision on her birthday
Two other people were killed and one was seriously injured in the accident.
Brazilian fashion influencer Luana Raquel de Araújo Melo, also known as Luanna Araújo, died on her birthday in a three-way highway collision.
Brazilian news outlet g1 reported that Araújo, 29, died on Sep. 26.
According to her Instagram account, she had over 94,000 followers.
Her school, Colégio Santa Sofia, expressed their condolences.
Early morning crash
Araújo was killed in the early hours of Sep. 26.
According to g1, a collision between two trucks and a car occurred at around 1:20am in Bahia's second-largest city, Feira de Santana.
Bahia is a state in the northeast region of Brazil.
Witnesses told police that the driver of one of the trucks reportedly lost control while carrying tomatoes and heading towards Santo Estevão, a town in Bahia.
The truck then supposedly crossed into the opposite lane, where it struck the other truck and a car.
Under investigation
The three people who died were reportedly in the car, which had an Anápolis (GO) license plate, according to the Federal Highway Police (PRF).
Two people who died were identified as 36-year-old businessman Korbinian Andreas Dengler and 24-year-old real estate agent Herbson Nunes Negrão.
Korbinian was identified as her fiancé, while Herbson was their friend.
The Technical Police Department (DPT) removed the bodies of all three victims.
The Fire Department rescued the truck driver transporting tomatoes. He was taken to a local hospital in critical condition.
According to the PRF, the driver of the other truck was also taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.
